Rail Museum is one of the most famous and visited museums of Delhi which presents the ancient heritage of railways. It was established on 1 February 1977 in India. It was established with the objective of preserving the 163-year-old railway heritage.
Rail Museum Delhi has also provided 3D virtual train rides, steam loco simulator, toy train and an indoor gallery for its tourists.
Apart from these, the museum also has an auditorium with a seating capacity of 200 people, where occasional workshops are held and documentaries are screened.
Inside the museum, there are many photographs to show you the history, development and splendor of heavy rail. And many types of rail locomotives, rail coaches, freight trains will be seen.Basic Infromation About Rail Museum

Inside the Rail Museum you can have a fancy dinner in a luxurious train carriage. Inspired by the designs of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, the restaurant has a similar dome.

- Fairy Queen- The oldest working steam locomotive.
- Patiala State Monorail – Originally built in 1907, this train has a single rail track. It is not in working condition.
- Fire Engine- Manufactured by John Morris & Sons Ltd., two Morris-Belize engines still exist, one of which is here. The other is preserved in London.
- Holkar Maharaja’s Saloon – Built in honor of Maharaja of Indore.
- Saloon of the Maharaja of Mysore- Built in honor of the Maharaja of Mysore.
